You guys! I really don’t know what to say, but I accidentally deleted everything. Everything! I feel like I could cry. I was trying to reboot my other laptop, and I emptied a folder to make more room, and didn’t realize I was permanently removing a file that was synced across the cloud.
I seriously need a hug…
I know I haven’t been writing as much because the last year and a half has been tough (marriage splitting up and moving to Belgium to pursue my MBA, yadda yadda), but I could not believe my eyes when I loaded up my game to see that not a single save file was there. All my plans for all these saves–gone.
Ok… I’m going to stop complaining (for now) because I have a plan. My brain works like that, you know? I’m sad and I want a stiff drink and I kind of just want to take a 6 hour nap and delay feeling anything, but instead I’m diving in with a solution.
I will do a reboot! It’s not like when a story starts over from the beginning with the same characters and just charts a different path. It’s more like when Beverly Hills, 90210 became 90210. I watched the new show, and I liked it more than the old one #unpopularopinion.
I feel good at least that I made it to Quincy & Daniella’s wedding. I had big plans for what came next. Luca was going to slide into a depression, he was doing it already on his own, moping around for no good reason. Sigh, there was going to be a reckoning for his choices! And I really wanted to see if Bo & Heaven ever found their way back to each other. And Carmen and Hugo were about to dive headfirst into their new blended family situation, and that was going to be fun since his daughter was a vampire! Laurel was getting close to aging up to Elder, so it would’ve been fun to see which of her relatives inherited her spot in the club. And Gavin’s political career was about to be heavily affected by everything that had happened, and I wanted to show how that would play out. Plus, his & Akira’s kids were going to grow up to be hot! I wanted to show that.
Just to say goodbye, here’s that ridiculous group picture I made with all my Sims. I promise not to let the group get this large on the next go round!
But alas, it’s time to say farewell to those poor deleted Sims and pick new ones. I’ve got my game loaded up, and I will see where it takes me. I really enjoyed writing this neighborhood rotation (when I had time). I look forward to seeing what these new Sims teach me about dreams & drama.
Thanks if you’re still following this blog, and hopefully you’ll join me on the new adventure.
